United Way of Westchester and Putnam facilitates Diaper Distribution 

Two pallets of donated diapers were given out to the community 

United Way of Westchester and Putnam distributed two pallets of diapers to the Child Care Council of Westchester, Inc. and 914 Cares to ensure that struggling families have enough diapers for their infants and toddlers.   

“Many families are enduring economic challenges that cause material hardships such as diaper needs,” said United Way Director of Community Impact Avery Zuvic. “Providing access to these diapers through our nonprofit partners will ease the financial burden for a number of households.”  

The donations were available thanks to UWWP’s partnership with Good360. As a Good360 nonprofit partner, UWWP has access to highly needed, donated goods that Good360 sources from hundreds of socially responsible corporate donors such as Amazon. UWWP then distributes these products to local, vetted nonprofits.  

“It was so wonderful to get the diaper delivery from United Way,” said program manager Nichole Culotta. “914Cares distributes about 40,000 diapers monthly to children in need in Westchester County. In Westchester County, 40% of children are born to families on Medicaid. Our goal is to provide families with diapers and other basic essentials so they can buy other things they need. We believe everyone should be able to live a life with confidence and with dignity.”  

Diapers are one of the items available through United Way’s Essential Goods for Basic Needs Program. In 2022 the Essential Goods for Basic Needs program distributed approximately $4 million in donated items to community partners.
