Featured Intern: Christian Capobianco

Christian is a student from Blind Brook High School in Rye, NY, completing his senior-year internship at United Way of Westchester and Putnam. He is currently assisting with our United2Read program, which provides specific communities of children and their caregivers with reading kits and online resources. These resources encourage literacy growth and interaction between children and caregivers. Christian currently holds the position of President of his high school’s book club and has coordinated several book drives that have resulted in over 1000 books donated to United Way!

“The reason why I intern at United Way is because of the love I have for reading. With the work that is being done in our community through the United2Read program, I feel that I have done more than ever before to encourage kids to pick-up a book and start reading”.

Christian was born and raised in Yonkers, NY, and has plans on attending Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA, for the Fall 2021 semester. He interested in studying biology and physiology to prepare him for a career in forensic science. Christian enjoys reading and playing video games in his spare time.
