It’s Backpack Time!
Volunteers help UWWP prepare backpacks for school-aged children
United Way of Westchester and Putnam called and the volunteers answered!
Volunteers from the community and local organizations are helping United Way of Westchester and Putnam with the reception, assembly, and delivery of 6,000 backpacks for
school-aged children this summer. The backpacks and school supplies will be distributed through United Way programs and partnering organizations.
The Youth Shelter Program of Westchester helped sort and carry the boxes of backpacks right off the pallets on July 20th, and Webster Bank, volunteers impressively filled 1,200 backpacks, in just a few hours on Friday, July 22.
